Note the lack of grass sedlings around this Melaleuca lancelota, which is browsed at rabbit height. In parts of Australia we see generations of melaleuca that grew up during periods of rabbit relief - in the 1950s when myxomatosis was at its peak and in the 1990s when RHD peaked.
